I nearly always go over my sugar allowance, but I'm wondering if this is another case of MFP setting it too low? I go OVER my sugar allowance at least 70% of the time and hate seeing the red.

For example, today I have hardly eaten anything (had a huge headache earlier and it sapped my appetite), but by the time the day is over, even though I'll be under my calorie allowance I will be over my sugar allowance by 6.

Any ideas?

I love fruit and have the same problem. Fruit is so good for you but it can be high in sugar. Try to stick with berries, kiwi, and granny smith apples if you find it trails back to fruit intake. Good luck... even good sugar can sometimes sabotage weight loss

The sugar that occurs naturally in fruit (fructose) is not bad for you, and should be regarded as just another carbohydrate. Refined sugar, also known as table sugar or sucrose, is--I dare say--the primary cause of obesity, at least in the United States.

There is even some science that suggests sucrose is literally poisonous to the human physiology. Here's a popular link...

Same boat. Almost always over on sugar and protein, never in carbs. Usually under or very close to my calorie goal though and have dropped some pounds so I don't worry too much :)

If you eat a lot of fruit, you're going to go over. There's a reason you should limit yourself to 3-5 servings a day. Stick with high fiber and high water content fruits to minimize impact on your diet. (Apples and pears have the highest fiber per serving, berries are all superfoods and great for you.)
Having cut out all fruit but for 1 or 2 servings a week, I have no problems with sugars! But, this is a medical weight loss program and really not all that healthy for long term maintenance.
There is nothing wrong if all of your sugar comes from healthy foods! If it comes from sugary cereals and drinks, then it's not good and maybe revising what you eat would be advisable. I say this without looking at your food diary, so it's just out there for help!
