Is belly fat really the last thing that you lose? I haven't lost a TON of weight yet (12lbs) and I have about 55 more to lose...but I have noticed in my body that I have lost weight everywhere except my stomach!! and of course - that is the place I need/want to lose it the most..

just curious if anyone else has experienced this.... :sad:

    You can't spot reduce. For some people the first place they tend to put on the fat is the last place they will lose it from

    however, and take this with a grain of salt, my personal trainer is convinced that the reason he has a six pack is due to all the leg work he does. free weight leg work outs strengthen the core, and they're some of the biggest muscles in your body, so working them out will make them "hungrier" in a sense.

    all i know is that since i started concentrating more on my squats and deadlift, my *kitten* has never looked better, and that V thing is much more defined.

    It also differs between the sexes - men tend to store and lose weight around the belly more than women who put on weight on their legs/buttocks area first. So yeah If you're a women you prob gonna lose belly fat last - but not all men prefer women with six packs haha

    Working out your legs does help with core as well as increasing muscle mass overall in the body due to hormonal responses.

    Often times the areas with the most fat are the ones which appear to be losing the slowest. It's usually the fact they have the most to lose in the first place and small changes go relatively unnoticed in these areas. Most people see the quickest changes in the body parts which are naturally the leanest to begin with.

    Thanks guys!! I am a female so that makes sense...plus I have a hormonal imbalance and a medical condition that makes me gain weight in my middle much faster than the normal female....I appreciate your responses. I'll just keep at it! :flowerforyou:

    agree with everything said about working legs and core but really have to focus on the kitchen to lose body fat....nutrition is really important

    Are you sure you aren't just an apple body type?

    Where someone loses from first or last is different for everyone. My stomach usually goes down pretty quickly, but I hold most of my weight in my hips/butt/thighs.

    I was thinking I was going to have to add ab workouts but it is the legs I need to deal with mostly. Great advice since the legs need work too!

    I am an apple shape and I have hyptothyroidism. I gain weight in my stomach first and lose it from there last. Keep working and watch the diet. You can do it!!!!
