Question about calorie tracking..

If they want you to stay at or above your 1200 calories to prevent your body from going into "starvation mode" then why when you go over the 1200 calories does your calorie count switch to red? (Which any one will tell you means "bad" or "stop") Yet when you are under your 1200 calories (even by 15 calories) you are "reprimanded" by the program for eating too much... Any one else have any opinions on this....
