My scale doesn't understand me

I don't really need help as such - just thought I'd share this for all the people who get frustrated with their scales.

I haven't weighed myself in ages because every time I go on I'm a totally different weight... I assumed that my floors weren't straight and it was throwing the scale off. Then I saw on the message boards somewhere this genius idea to weigh something that I knew the weight of to test it. 1kg of couscous seems to be 1kg regardless of where the scale is in the house, what surface it's on, what angle it's rotated etc etc. BUT, I on the other hand am anything from 115 to 120lbs in a 1 minute interval EVEN IF THE SCALE STAYS IN THE SAME PLACE.

If anyone can shed light on this, please do. If not I'm happy to just keep glaring at it (while secretly wishing it to show me the numbers I want, should it be churning out garbage anyway)

I had a scale that it depended on HOW I stood on it. Shifting weight to my heels or to my left or right side would change my weight. So I learned to lean back and shift to the left. That was always my favorite weight.

My scale doesn't understand me either, so I usually weigh a couple of different poses and positions. :p My boyfriend thinks I look ridiculous, but I take all of the numbers into account and think of it like one of those graphs with lots of dots...over time, you can see a pattern even if there is some data that is overly high or overly low.

I had a scale that weighed me different depending on how I stood. Some awesome folks on here recommended I buy this scale instead and I'm very happy with it. It seems to be super accurate and weighs me the same no matter how I stand or where I place it:

Mine doesn't understand me either. I keep telling it that I weigh 140, it keeps saying I'm in the upper 170's...... ugh. Maybe I should try speaking in Korean, its native tongue.

I've started weighing myself three times. The first one is always higher, and the last two tend to match up. It's annoying, but I figure that if it's off, it's probably consistently off, and consistency is the important thing.

Your scale varies 5 lbs in 1 minute? Total garbage!! Throw it away!

If I get on mine quickly I'll "weigh" more than I do if I step on slowly. . . just a thought :)
