Saving calories question

Ok, I hope this doesn't get as controversial as eating exercise calories. My question is: If I eat a small number of calories early in the day, is it ok to splurge later on if I have the calories? Example, if I eat a yogurt for breakfast and a protein bar for lunch (not starving myself, just not hungry) is it ok to have a bowl of ice cream in the evening since I would still have so many calories left? Or if I know I'm going to have something fattening for dinner, can I have a lighter breakfast and lunch to compensate? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Yes, completely fine to "bank" extra calories for larger meals later in the day. I'd much rather be hungry during the day than at night. Meal timing/frequency has little to no bearing on weight loss.

Yes, just be sure that you are getting the proper nutrients. You can lose weight strictly by calorie counting, but you should eat mostly healthy foods, for your general health.

Some people find that eating very little during the day would lead them to be overly hungry and they would overeat. Doesn't sound like a problem for you though. I'm the same way - I like to eat a small breakfast and lunch, and usually eat 2/3 of my calories for dinner.

Yup, that is basically what I do every day. I'm not a huge breakfast fan (unless it is super calorie laden like bacon, eggs, homefries, buttered toast...mmmmm...sorry I got distracted). I eat a cottage cheese double most mornings and it fills me until lunch and only uses 100 calories so I can enjoy them later in the day.

Absolutely ok!! It doesn't matter when you consume those calories just as long as you do eat them!

You are fine as long as you have the calories left to do that. I do the same thing on the weekends. I will also make sure to get in a really good workout just so I can have something I want. I don't live off salad. Lol.
