My challenge

This is something that I need pointers on. My challenge is belly fat. I am going thru the change of life and the pounds just came on like a ton of bricks. This is hard since I have never in my life been over weight. Always a size 5. Now that the pounds and belly fat is there it is very hard to do ab work outs or any floor exercises. Help???
