My legs hurt :(

I started working out back in June and got a good routine of 4-5 days a week at the gym. I didn't lose a lot of weight but got a lot of other NSV from working out (like less migraines!) but then the holidays rolled around and I got this awful cold which kept me from the gym.

I finally got back into the gym last week and have been tracking my food here since the beginning of the year. I love this site and all of its motivation. But today I have just been down. I had to skip my workouts for two days now because I over did it on Sunday. I really don't want to slip out of the gym routine that I am finally getting back but I really don't want to injure my legs. I have to stand all day at work and by the end of the day my legs are so sore. Normally I am just a little tired but able to get back into the gym and get a decent cardio workout.

So anyone have any suggestions for helping muscle soreness? I can't keep skipping days at the gym :(

I am used to muscle soreness but not this much. I warmed up on the elliptical, did some stretches (probably could have stretched longer) did weighted squats, leg presses, and lunges with weights in my hands. Then I stretched some more, more cardio to keep blood flowing and got in the hot tub that is at my gym. I have been stretching and trying to walk around so they don't get stiff but man I hurt today and really miss the exercise calories :(

And I don't really have anyone to listen to my complaints that understand so thanks for listening :)

  • moist heat and movement. In other words....take a hot bath and go for a walk :)

    Whenever I work out or put my body under stress I find it helps to inflict some self-massage! It really eases up the muscles and gets you closer to your body.
