This very possible. In fact, you can burn that amount a lot quicker than 160 minutes.0

The best way to validate it would be with the use of an HRM to be honest...
I wont refer to MFP's calculations to be honest as I find some of them are incredibly 'inflated'... the equipment I use at the gym, I will use those numbers because they are more realistic - at least until I can afford a good quality HRM....0 -
Fundamentally it depends on your current weight and the effort you put into the workout. For example, on the weekend when I do my long runs I burn 1000 plus calories. During the week I do a lot of interval training for 60-75 minutes and burn between 500-700 calories.0

I was able to burn about 860 calories after an hour of kickboxing.
cramernh is right, get a HRM to get an accurate number for calories burned. MFP guessed that I burned 662 for that same hour last time...that's a 202 calorie deficit...that's a BIG difference!
if you cannot afford a HRM right now the at home way is to figure out your target heart rate (THR):
*Go to: http://www.shapefit.com/target-heart-rate-table.html and follow the chart for your fitness level you do not want to go over the maximum
*then in the middle of the workout (or 20-30 minutes into the workout), place your fingers on your neck/wrist to locate your pulse, count the beats for 6 seconds (use a stopwatch/analog watch) and add a zero this is your (current) heart rate.
EXAMPLE: if you counted 16 beats in 6 seconds, your HR is 160
THEN:
*go to: http://www.calories-calculator.net/Calories_Burned_By_Heart_Rate.html and input your info, you will need to have kept up the intensity for the entire period to get an accurate number of calories burned.
or just get a HRM0
