Losing 1lb/week vs 2 lbs/week

When I was going through setting my goals on here, it said that the recommended weight loss is 1 pound a week. The difference between losing 1lb a week and 2lbs is about 500 calories, meaning if I were only trying to lose 1 lb a week I have 500 more calories in my daily allowance. So I guess what I'm trying to find out is..who is having the most success, the people who have it set for 1 pound a week weight loss, or 2 pounds a week. Thanks!

It depends on how much you have to lose. If you have a larger amount to lose, it's ok to set it for 2 lbs per week. As you get closer to your goal you adjust accordingly so that you don't end up burning muscle instead of fat.0
