Just curious as to what other MFP member's motivation is for losing weight or just getting healthy? I was a bridesmaid in my sister's wedding last summer, and when the pictures came back, I realized how huge I looked in my dress! It was so embarrassing. I even had a family member ask if I was pregnant. No Uncle Ted...just a food baby. After weighing myself, I realized I had gained over 40 pounds in the last 5 years since high school. I lost almost 30 pounds over the next few months through eating less and exercising more (what a concept, right?) Anyways, I maintained that weight for a while before slowly gaining about 10 of it back. I joined MFP after the holidays to lose the next 15-20 lbs. I have a cruise next month and my brother's wedding next summer. Don't want to be embarrassed by family photos or start any pregnancy rumors again! So far, I have lost another 7 pounds and hope to lost at least another 8 in the next 6 weeks. And I want to maintain it this time!

I started wanting to lose weight and get in shape once I found out that I am going to be a bridesmaid in my older sisters wedding this September! I started out at almost 130 pounds and before that I was at 150! That scared me because I have always been small and I am not very tall either! Only 5'2! I didnt want to be short and stumpy! A few months later I am now down to almost 100 pounds, exactly where I want to be! I have motivation to stay that way since my sisters wedding is still a ways away and I know my wedding will be coming up in the near future as well! Besides looking good for some weddings I also have a vacation to Florida coming up in april! It will be my first time to the beach so I have to look hot as **** in that bikini! Now that I am down to where I would like to be with my weight, my next goal would to be gain more muscle as there isnt a whole lot more fat to lose before I start losing the muscle I actually have! Toning and tightening now!0

I have overcome many obstacles in my life (see profile page) & because of this, I know what I am capable of doing if I set my mind to it. So, my new goal is to become the woman that I will smile at when I look in the mirror.
I have a long way to go - but I CAN do it. One step at a time, one day at a time & one pound at a time.0 -
I want to see what I can do with my body. I've seen bodies do amazing things and I hate thinking about wasting all that potential on a few too many calories and sedentary days. I also respect my body and love it, so I want to take care of it. For myself, primarily, but also for my future children. I'd hate to pass on bad habits and predispositions, you know? In addition to all of those things, eating clean does good things for the planet. I'm all about multi-lateral improvements0
