Fad diets - what have you tried?

So, before I came to this wonderful place I tried all sorts of bizarre diets and exercise fads

- Dukan (I got so bored)
- Jorge Cruz 8 minutes in the morning - I'd rather spending those 8 minutes in bed
- Weightwatchers - great for some but doesn't really teach you about nutrition
- Agar flakes - yes, Agar flakes, in hot water, drunk before a meal, to keep me full - what an idiot!

What have you tried before? There must be someone worse than me! :-)

Replies

  • Atkins- lost 20 pounds, and gained it right back.
Nutrisystem- lasted 2 days, worst tasting food ever!
  • Metabolife--lost 80, gained it back
    Atkins--lost 80, gained back 100
Balanced Diet/Exercise--lost 50 in 4 1/2 months, gained it back after going back to poor habits =(

I am older and wiser and I am so grateful for MFP

    -21 lbs in 5 1/2 weeks....and I enjoy it so much!!

    What a Blessing!

I don't know about FAD per sey but I have tried WW (my favorite plan), 17 day diet (next fav), went to TOPS, diet center, ummm I think that's it... I just do my own thing now. Incorporating things that I got from each

    Slim Fast

sticking to MFP has been the cheapest and most effective way I've lost weight out of the bunch!

    SlimFast shakes.
    Cabbage Soup diet.
    F plan diet.
Rosemary Connelly (not sure on spelling and can't be bothered to look it up) low fat type diet.
Mrs Aperture_Science did Slimming world and I ate the same during that.

    All of them were terrible.

Then I joined a pay site very similar to MFP and that worked. The only reason I left was that MFP is free and the other site was £10 per month.
