Hello everyone, my name is Tom, I have always been very comfortable with myself. Yes I am overweight, but very confident and (what I consider) to be very health. I am an active individual, I hunt, fish, bowl, golf, Boat travel and camp. I do a lot of yard work also. And most of all, I consider myself an excellent cook and I like to eat what I cook. Back on December 12th 2011, some guys at work asked if I wanted to join in a weight loss competition and the stakes is 20 bucks a person for most pounds lost. I accepted. Being a very competitive individual, then game was on. The end date is Feb 10th, (two days from now) my goal was to loose 20 lbs during this time frame and I am currently at 18.3 lbs gone. I only have one competitor remaining. (Thad1968), one of my best buds. Anywho, I found lifting weights and keeping under my cal count on myfitnesspal.com has become some what addictive. I started at 314.6 dressed and I am now 296.6 dressed. I will be down to a cool weight of 250 before the end of this year. May be even better, but goals need to be SMART, Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant & Time Bound. Good Day and Good Luck.

Hey Tom! Great job so far. I, too, am participating in an office weight loss challenge. We're going off of overall % lost. First 2 weeks were good, then I upped my exercise and really focused on my eating....only to gain the past 2 weeks. I'm not giving up, though....this is a life change. Like you, I'm overweight, but have never been anything other than postiive and confident. Here's to hoping those two traits push me even further with this endeavor!0
