Rest Days?

I weight train 3 days a week followed by 20-30 minutes of cardio. On the other four days, I do some sort of intensive cardio--it can be a 30-45 minute Wave DVD, a 90 minute fast paced walk, or a several hour hike.
This morning I woke up just exhausted and I'm wondering if I'm pushing myself too hard.
So I'm wondering. Do you all have rest day through the week, or do you push yourself to do some sort of intensive exercise every day?
I'd appreciate your input.

if i'm tired i rest. i try to get in at least 3 days a week. it usually ends up being more but some days i'm very busy and just exhuasted. it's your body's way of telling you to take it easy. i usually do a 4.5 mile run followed by 40 minutes of weights and it wears me out sometimes. you could always walk on your inbetween days rather than intense cardio.0

Rest days are so important. Your body needs that time to let your muscles repair and let your joints rest. I generally have one rest day a week (Fridays) and a couple days where I do a less intense workout, like yoga. I work out really hard probably 4 days a week, do hot yoga twice a week and then have one rest day. If I don't feel like I need rest, I'll do some sort of low impact workout. And then if I'm just TIRED and feel like I need an extra day off, I'll take it. Listen to your body, and you'll be fine!0

Rest days are super important. Your body needs time to heal between workouts. If you are going to work every day, try yoga on one day so that your body isn't doing quite as much. If you are hurting, you must rest! I'm going 7 days a week right now, under doctor's orders, and I'm really missing my rest day!0

Busy schedules dictate, but here's what I try for:
Monday - hit the gym after work - 1 hour of strength training / cardio combo
Tuesday- hit the gym after work - 1 hour of yoga, followed by small group strength training session
Wednesday - "off" -- try to get a 1/2 hour walk in at lunchtime if weather is good in Boston
Thursday - hit the gym after work - 1 hour of yoga, followed by small group strength training session
Friday - "off" or just 1/2 hour of cardio if I feel good.
Saturday - early morning small group strength training session for about a half hour
Sunday -- walk outside for one hour or horseback riding lesson if weather is good
I did find that good nutrition and "practice" keeps the energy levels up. If I feel tired, I find that if I still work out, I feel better after. I also saw better results to keep this kind of schedule when I have plenty of lean protein in my diet -- it keeps the enegry up and the hunger down. Can't stress that enough -- lean protein and whole grains!0 -
I'm usually busier Tuesday or Wednesday, so I will rest on either of those days and Sunday.0

I always take Sundays off. I only walk at a fast pace on the treadmill around 2 miles to 2.5 miles a night, but I still need that one day to recover..0

I usually have one rest day per week. It's usually Tuesday (the day before I weigh in). Personally I think rest days are important so your body can recover.0

I have at least one day of rest every week. My body needs it and I am learning to listen to my body and respect it.
Monday - Rest Day
Tuesday - Zumba Toning
Wednesday - Zumba
Thursday - Zumba
Friday - Zumba
Saturday - Swimming
Sunday - 3 mile hike
The hike is a BEAST so a rest day on Monday is more than called for.0 -
I take a rest day once a week, just to give my muscles a break. The day after my break I feel fresh and ready to go!0

Yes, for me rest days are super important. I choose my rest day as Monday since they typically suck, I can have something to look forward to.0

Sundays are my usual rest day from the gym. But - if its nice, the fam and I usually do something outside.0

I train (cardio, treadmill) every other day here. Strong possibility I will be adding one weights session in per week very shortly.
I could not train everyday, I need my rest days.0
