Alright, Ladies! Let's hear your tips on how you deal with the week leading up to and the week of your periods.
How do you deal with mood swings?
How do you deal with cravings?
How do you deal with the general lack of motivation?

The mood swings are the hardest part IMHO but I just try to keep myself in check. If I feel my temper rising, I just put my lips together and keep my thoughts to myself. It doesn't always work but I try!
For cravings, I try to find a good substitute or just let myself have a tiny bit of whatever it is I want. I find if I don't at least come close to satisfying the craving, I'll just end up eating everything else I can get my hands on. So...better to have a few pieces of chcolate than a whole stack of crackers.
And as far as lack of motivation, it's like anything else in the process, you just have to push through and do what you know you need to do. Most time exercising is actually going to help with things like cramps and fatigue. Give yoursle a bit of a break but try to stick with your normal schedule as closely as you can because trying to start over every 4 weeks is going to make your life a lot tougher.0 -
I've got to say, my mood swings have lessened since eating healthier and exercising!0

here is what a man does...
1.leave the house
2.hide all the food
3.tell her to quit whining n go to the gym... she thanks me later0 -

Or you could run a hot bubble bath for her, pour her a glass of wine, turn on some soft music and give her some alone time. Whatever you do, do not hide the chocolate!!0 -
My mood swings have also lessened since I started exercising a lot -- BUT they are still the worst part of pms! My cramps are not nearly as bad, but the water weight is still an annoyance (which I notice a lot more now that i'm smaller and paying close attention to my weight).....0

BCP. My periods and the days before them are a total non-event since I've been on the pill.0

I don't usually experience any pre-menstrual symptoms, and if it weren't for the fact that I chart my cycles, I would probably be surprised by my period every time. However, when I don't exercise regularly (and I eat less healthful food, which seems to go hand-in-hand), I become depressed, usually for the two weeks leading up to my period. Personally, continuing to work out, even if it's the only positive thing I do all day, helps me manage the bad feelings, which are the only thing I've ever associated with my cycle. I hope you feel better, and that you find something that works for you!0
