Before answering this I'd appreciate it if any of you didn't label my goals as "unsubstantial", last time I posted here I had a few rather unnecessarily futile comments in response to a simple query I had.
Im 5'7, 150 pounds, and want to lose atleast 20 pounds. For the last 5 weeks I have been trying to lose weight, and thus started my 'weight loss' journey. It hasn't turned out to be much of a journey as I have yet to lose weight.
For the first 2 weeks I realised this was because I stupidly was eating too few calories, and combined with the exercise I was doing, the net calories I had leftover were not sufficient enough for either my body or metabolism.
Now when I work out, I try to replace the calories I lose with healthy foods. My diet is pretty damn clean, I work out 6 days a week (40 mins of cardio, sometimes 60 mins, or even more), and I have recently begun the 30 day shred too. I drink plenty of water, green tea, eat lots of fruit&veg, whole grains etc.
I don't understand why I'm not losing weight? It's kind of frustrating. I know patience is a virtue, but I feel like I don't know where I'm going wrong, if anywhere. =/
I'd really appreciate your help.

I'm also 5'7 and 155 lbs. I found what worked best for myself, the last time I tried to lose weight, was running. But I've also heard from a lot of people to try weight training. I'm not entirely sure why you're not losing pounds, but have you tried measuring yourself to see if you've lost inches? That might be a better indicator of success than the scale.
If you figure out something that works for our body type, please let me know! I"m just starting to lose weight (again) and I really want this time to be a success!
I guess the best thing you can do is stick with the new diet/exercise. Even if you don't see results, you'll at least be healthier!

i peeked at your diary, we pretty much eat the same! very funny how we are on pretty much the exact amount of cals today...
anyway, i am the same as you, i eat clean as much as possible (lots of fruit and veg) i binged terribly the last 2 days but thats besides the point...
i sometimes feel the same way, the scale isnt going down much, but there are some NVS, like i have definitely lost my love handles. just stick at it would be my best advice, even if the scale isnt going down you will feel much much healthier and a better person. my skin is glowing (people have commented!) and i look leaner. the scale isnt everything, what youre doing is fine.
remember, everyone pretty much goes through this! i know i am right now!0 -
I, personally, have no idea why the scale isn't moving for you. But, I would suggest calling a nutritionist or a trainer at a gym and giving them a quick run-down of your eating/workout habits, to see if they have any suggestions.0
