water-filled weights?

Does anyone know if water-filled weights/dumbells can be bought somewhere? I've been travelling a fair bit lately but I want to keep up my exercise routine without needing to pack extra weight in my suitcase. Has anyone come up with a practical solution? Thanks!

How about adjustable stretchy bands? I haven't used them before but it's the same principles as the bow flex machines. Try looking into something along those lines. At least they'd be easy to pack.

Years ago Leslie Sansone sold a "walking kit" that had water filled weighted balls. They were 2 pounds each. http://www.amazon.com/Leslie-Sansone-Complete-Home-Walking/dp/B000VI6T60/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_t_2 This would be tough to find. You might try Marshalls, Ross, Tuesday Morning - they usually have some older stuff.

The resistance bands, or cords (previously mentioned) are a great idea because the bands fome in different intensities. Cathe has a video called Travel Fit. The Marshall's near me usually has resistance cords.

I should clarify: I'd like to continue doing JM's 30-Day Shred, which uses dumbells. I don't think resistance bands would work for that, though it is a good idea for travel workouts in general. Thanks :)

We tried them may years back & were disapointed with the quality - an idea that sounds great but not so practical! Sorry I can't recall which mail order house I purchased them from.
