carbonation cramps

hi everyone-

i've been doing well the last month or so drinking way less diet soda (1 or 2 glasses a week) and lots more water! but this weekend i had 2 glasses of diet coke on saturday, and noticed that i had an enormous stomach ache saturday night. could it have been gas related from drinking the carbonation now that my body isn't used to it anymore?
