What drives you exercise? I would say mine is I think of exercise as a by-product of a positive life outlook. It starts with " conquering" yourself and then that mindset effects all aspects of my life for the better:) Feel free to add me im a personal trainer and I actually enjoy answering messages/questions:)

  • Weight loss and my health. My Dad recently had a heart attack so that booted me back into gear. Plus the endorphin high when you're done is just awesome.

My reasons evolved over time. First is was just too eat more. I HAD to do it lose weight. Then, I became fit (1st time in many years). Now I exercise so I can feel better, I "want" to exercise. I don't feel worn out, I have much more energy now. I even sleep better.

Because I can't NOT exercise. It's an addiction. Feels good, love the challenge, and I know I'm doing myself good!

It makes me feel better, I want to lose weight and I don't want to end up with diabetes later in life or cancer hopefully.

If I want to be a skinny b***h, I need to exercise like crazy! Plus I think I look really awesome muscular and trim. And it helps keep the depression at bay. Huge bonus!
  • I excercise because I like to push myself further to see what I can do. It's also like quite time for, I go into myself and just have such a calm and peaceful mindset. On my really stressful days it helps me get out any anger or frustration (I love to hit the heavy bag).

-Because I want to finally love the way I look
    -To feel strong and confident
-So I don't need to wear a shirt over my bathing suit
-Because my family has a history of high cholesterol/ blood pressure
-I want to prove to everyone who teased me as a kid that they're wrong. I wanna make them eat their words.
    -It helps with my anxiety/depression.
  • Not because I want to lose weight (I don't need to - 50 kg 169 cm). I exercise just to look and feel good :)

First to lose weight... I don't want to have to deal with all the obesity related issues and have a table full of pills as a result. I also want to be a good body image role model to my kids. I want to look smokin' hot when my husband and I go on an "adults only" vacation. I have this ideal of being a "trophy wife" (sans the negative conotations but with all the looks)... It's worth 100 points in my workplaces wellness incentive to lose 10% of my body weight (though it's not required, but I'm going for the gold and trying to get every single point offered this year)... and I'm just plain tired of being fat (well technically obese) and excuses aren't making the fat go away.

    1) To lose weight and tone up.
    2) My health-heart disease and diabetes runs in my family.
    3) It makes me feel soooo much better mentally too!

When i started at the gym a year ago, i would have answered "to lose weight". That quickly became "to get more healthy". Now, the answer is more complicated. I do it because it makes me feel good - i know i'm doing something good for my body, it clears my mind, relieves stress. It's also a social outlet. And it is a challenge, mentally and physically.

Because it is a stress reliever and better than any anti-depresant any doctor could possibly prescribe me

It's my natural mood stabilization program. AND I'm over 40 - if I don't excercise my body is going to go to complete SH..T all together. AND I want to be strong & healthy. AND I love how satisfied I feel after a great workout. AND I sit behind a desk 5 days a week and love any opportunity to move my body.... :-)

In the beginning, it was to earn extra calories in my daily bank. It took very little time to really love working out, and now I do it because I love it so much. I love the challenge, love how it feels, and love how it makes my body look.

I started to lose weight and feel better.

I keep exercising because I love how I feel when I work out. I have more energy on a regular basis, and I feel like this body is mine again. That's an awesome feeling.

I also love the challenge of improving, of beating what I could do before.

And watching my body change to a stronger, fitter shape is now a nice side effect, and I won't lie - I enjoy that too.

"Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy, happy people don't shoot their husbands, they just don't!"

I exercise because I notice a change in my mood and it also helps me sleep better and feel ready to attack tomorrow.

because i love it, i dont have to drag myself to the gym I love the way it clears my head, removes frustration and totally destresses me. Then on the other hand the benefit of looking better for it.

I am determined this time to have the body that I never quite got to because of falling pregnant- (twice) now I have my body back I want to get it in the best possible shape.
  • It's just fun.
Plus I need to be in shape to pass my fitness test for my job, so that could be an additional reason.
I'm really competitive and like being the best so that drives me too.

To feel productive. I feel that exercising is allowing me to progress towards weight loss and makes me feel as if I'm "doing something". It means a lot when you're on your butt, studying all the time.

Because for five years I couldn't. By the time I got over my depression about being in a wheelchair I was too fat to push myself without damaging my shoulders and wrists.

By Grace I'm out of the chair now- so I HAVE to move. It would be insanity not to. I have to push myself to take a rest day- every second I can move is... it's indescribable.

I want to move for my friends who can't move, for the people who helped me get here, for the people I get to help in the future. Hell, at this point it's not even a want- it's a need. Exercising is like breathing.
