Heavy Lifting

I've saw so many posts here on heavy lifting and how much it improves your figures.

Just wanting some advice on how to get started. I don't think I'd have the guts to go into the Conditioning Gym full of big bulked up guys yet. My cardio gym has some weights machines but not free weights. Would these help?

Also, I've started Body Pump...would this be enough if I start working to up my weights?

  • If you want to get started, check out New Rules of Lifting For Women or Starting Strength. Both solid programs. Go to bodybuilding.com for more resources and read the stickies in the forums. Also, don't be scared to head to the free weights. I can guarantee virtually everyone is focused on themselves and not on those around them.

Thanks for this. I'm kinda worried I'd injure myself or squish myself in the free weights section at the moment! lol.

New Rules is great! Don't be scared of the big guys and free weights! Body Pump will be hard to do with heavy weights because there are a lot of reps.
