Foods to eat if you exercise.

I have my first visit at the gym today and I want to eat a diet that supports a 5-day-a-week exercise regime. Can anyone recommend healthy foods that will sustain me? I always find I'm hungrier when I exercise so I want to be sure that I'm eating the right things. Many thanks!

    Hi there,

I would say to you, book in for a nutrition appointment too if you can!!!!

For the best possible results, a clean diet is your best bet. Cut out the processed foods and aim for a high number of fruits and veg, along with lean proteins and complex carbohydrates too!

It's important you drink enough so you don't become dehydrated.

Food wise, little and often...you could start off with 3 meals and two snacks, see how you go with that?!

    :)
  • Hi Ahluvy, thanks for the advice! So it would seem that chicken, wholegrain pasta, egg white omlettes and fruit salads are the order of the day then? I'm a bit of a nutrition bumpkin and I'm hoping that I can get someone on the know to clue me in a bit so an appointment is probably a good idea!

I'm off to look for tasty meal ideas based on your recommendations. Thank you!
