I was having a bit of an argument with my other half thismorning regarding my breakfast of scrambled egg and two rashers of walls unsmoked Bacon that I grilled on the George forman grill. He said that i shouldn't be eating that sort of thing as its full of fat and unhealthy.

So my question is was my breakfast unhealthy? I'm trying to eat more protein and really finding it difficult (I don't really like meat)

did you count it all calorie wise and log it?? will you be under your calorie goal for today? if answer is yes to both of these then eat what you like for breakfast! lol x
  • bacon is totally not good for you... do i like bacon?? hell ya i do but im trying to lower my body fat and bad cholesterol so i dont eat it .. if you need protein how about almond butter? the fat in there is good for you . there is also protein shakes and sometimes i put protein powder in my oatmeal

i just made an egg fritatta yesterday ..egg whites with mushrooms, onion ,pepper , sprinkled with shredded cheddar cheese

I've been doing Atkins for five months now and I eat bacon and egss for one meal almost every day.

I have lost 50 pounds and have 23 more to go.

My blood work is all better presently than it was last fall.

I work out at the gym regularly and my heart is in much better shape.

    IMHO, bacon and eggs ROCK!
  • IMO this breakfast is great ...if you modify your carbs... for the rest of the day... and if your cholesterol levels are ok...
There's a great deal of misinformation regarding eggs... they are fine... full of goodness... yes they have fat, as do nuts... but its good fat... heaps of other good stuff in eggs too. Drink heaps of water with high protein levels to flush by products...
The salt in the bacon may cause you to retain fluid... I try to have at least 1/3 cup of veg with this cooked breakfast too

BTW Low fat products are often packed with sugar.... I'd rather eat real food...
