I've been living low carb for a year now. Have completely reversed my T2 diabetes, regulated my blood pressure and have lost 97lbs.

Anyone else out here living low carb?

  • Great job!! I'm not really "low carb" I guess but I am much lower carb then others and then MFP recommends. I try for 40/30/30 but I do best when my carbs are even a bit lower then that and my protein is closer to the 40 %. I just wanted to saw awesome job on your success!!

What do you consider 'low carb'? I try to eat as few carbs as I can, unless I know I'll be exercising A LOT.

When you say low carb, how many grams a day do you aim for?

Since I am a T2 diabetic I still keep my carbs very low. I aim for 20g or lower a day but I sometimes go over that when I'm eating nuts or berries. I am pretty strict, no sugar and no grains at all.

I will look for the Daily Low Carbers thread. Thanks.

I'm a vegan, and I would probably fall on my face if I didn't eat whole grains. So...I guess I'm not low carb. Haha.

I can't control my blood sugar when I eat any grain foods so they are out and after a year, I don't miss them.

You can still be low carb and eat grains. I just don't do it.
