Not enough protein?

Meh. I only have 14 or so lbs to get back to where I had been and it's been tough. I couldn't find a pair of work pants that fit in the thighs this morning. Everything was too tight. I took a hard look at my food diary and decided that I had been eating too many carbs and not enough protein. I have a wheat sensitivity, so it's not like I'm sitting around eating bread and pasta. My carbs come mainly from fruit and veggies, with the occasional bit of brown rice pasta thrown in.

It's disheartening because I'm curvy and carry it all in my hips and thighs. If I have to buy larger pants for work, they're going to swim in the waist. I just want to wear my normal clothes again.

I've been trying to use the bike at the gym and I'm taking yoga at least once a week, as my schedule permits. Trying to drink lots of water too.

I think it comes back to food though. So do you stick to what MFP suggests as far as protein? Do you abide by the 1g protein for every pound that you weigh rule? MFP had me at something like 40g/day.

Thoughts?
