Losing the scale

Has anyone been successful in getting rid of their scale and still losing weight? It seems if I haven't lost weight when I think I should have, it sends me in a negative spiral, gaining lost weight back and sometimes more. With that being said, I'm thinking of getting rid of my scale and occasionally checking my weight. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don't have any suggestions, I'm in the same boat as you. Thinking of getting rid of my scale as well (or at least giving up weighing myself, since my fiance is trying to gain weight and uses the scale once a week). I'm thinking about allowing myself a weigh-in once a month, so I stop being so focused on the scale. I try to take my measurements every couple of weeks, and I feel like that's such a better measure of progress than numbers on a scale.

I think I may try weighing in just once a month vs. the once a week that I've been doing. I am wanting to feel good about myself and what I am doing to be healthier, and not feel according to the numbers on the scale. Let's hope the temptation doesn't overwhelm me now. haha

Scale numbers are not moving fast. Tape measure numbers are dropping greatly. That has become the more important thing for me. I don't really care what number the scale says as long as the clothes are fitting better and sizes going down.

Thanks everyone! I think I will try measuring myself more vs. using the scale. How often do you all measure yourselves?

I am measuring once a week. But I recently started exercising regularly from rather sedentary before. So seeing that I am losing inches and fat is motivating for me.

That was me a few years ago--when the battery went dead on my scales I put it away for over 2 years--big mistake--I gained way more than I thought during that time. Now I weigh about every 3-4 weeks, which is usually long enough to see a loss.
