I am not on an atkins diet or anything, however I am doing "low carbs" as some people would call it. I aim for low carbs (under 80g a day), high fat and high protein.. for some reason losing body fat just works for me this way along with running... so this is what works for me.. but I was wondering if the ATKINS BARS are any good? Do any of you that are on low carb count the "net carbs?" since they are high in fiber?? or would you just count the carbs on the bar regardless of how much fiber there is?

Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question. Would just love to know for those doing low carb.

I try to get the ones with the least calories...when I enter it in my food for the day it only adds the net carbs and I am still losing. Look at the fat and calories and choose the best one. I get the caramel mousse its 120 calories...2 net carbs...and I think 1-2 grams of fat. That's my "chocolate" fix. :) Hope this helps.

I like them when I'm really craving a big amount of chocolate and don't want the calories, but I try to stay away from them as much as possible, really. They're soooooo processed, and sugar alcohols give a lot of people (me included) stomach issues for a few hours sometimes. Personally, I count all the carbs (not the net carbs), and I usually eat 90-140g of carbs a day.

That being said, they really ARE great if you're feeling in the mood for a chocolate bar-- they are pretty tasty, and even though they have a lot of fat and carbs, they also have a lot of protein, so they're relatively balanced for a "dessert." I could never use them as meal replacements, though, even though some are branded as such. They're very satisfying for an after-dinner treat if you have the calories and macros to spare, but other than that, I avoid them!
