I always find it hard to get dressed when I'm losing weight. Right now all my dress pants are either too big or too small. I have 1 pair of pants that fit. But I refuse to buy new pants right now because in about 5 lbs i'll be able to fit into the ones that are a bit tight right now.

I work in an office that is regular office dress Tues, Wed, Thurs and then Fri & Sat is casual (we can wear jeans fri & sat)

So i've been wearing a lot of dresses with tights for now to get me through this "in between sizes" stage.

I'd like to see what other people are wearing too, might give me some ideas, or to see outfits you are wearing that maybe you couldn't wear before your weight loss. I'm always looking at people for ideas and how I can make them my own to work for me.

Anyways, I hope other people share.
Here is me this morning.

I'm in the same rut you are. I'm lucky that I have to wear a uniform 3 days of my work week, but the other 2 office days and weekends are tricky. I find I'm recycling the same 3-4 outfits all week. I have some clothes I love right now, that fit me great so I'm considering getting tailored once I lose a little weight. I think I need to look into the dresses and tights trend though. I wear a lot of pants and sweater/cardigan combos.

BTW - love that dress in your pic. Where'd you get it? It'd be perfect for my work!

I got it at Superstore last summer. I find they have really cute dresses that work well with tights. I think I bought about 4 or 5 dresses there last summer.

I'm in that recycling outfits stage right now too and I just get so bored with it. This weekend I think i'm going to have to sit down at the sewing machine and take in 2 of the pairs of dress pants that are too big so that I have more options.

I did the same thing as u did. And when the shirts got too big I would belt them. When my sweaters got too big I would say boyfriend cardigans are in.

Haha I like that. I have a few shirts I belt. Pants seem to be the hardest thing. If they are too big they end up looking "sloppy"
  • I gained about 19 pounds recently, so none of my pants fit me the way they were, and they weren't that great fitting to begin with. I refuse to buy new pants, though, so I wear long tops over the pants. Incidentally, I usually wear long tops anyway (I work in a jail), so this isn't a huge deal, but the tops ride up more when my butt in bigger!! Point is, long tops over tighter pants are usually okay. Just cover the personals adequately.

How do I add a photo please?

the image needs to be hosted online somewhere like photobucket, tinypic, or something to that effect. Then copy the link to the picture, and and "img" in brackets around the link

www.adjfbakdfa.com but the IMG needs to be lowercase

I broke down and dug out my sewing machine.. then I sewed up the pants to make them smaller while I was shrinking. I'm still wearing those clothes that I wore 38lbs ago. Apparently if you stitch it up right, and add a nice longer blouse worn right, you can at least make it last longer between shopping trips.

I also always have one or two new tops so that I can enjoy the feel of something that fits properly. That's my treat!

Yeah, I have a sewing machine, I've just been to busy to sit down and actually tailor my clothes. I really need to do that.
  • Wow, all these people who know how to sew! I can't even hem straight. I actually bought a couple of short dresses so I could wear them as long tops, but they are a few inches TOO long. I did that because I am tall and it's hard for me to find tops that are long enough. But now I have to pay someone to hem the dresses, which stinks because I like to bargain shop. Not much of a bargain when you have to pay to get clothing altered.
