Did you know that rare meat or medium rare meat takes 21 days to digest. My dad had pancreatic cyst and he had to go on a no red meat diet.

I heard chewing gum doesn't digest for 100 years. Take that *kitten* to the afterlife with ya. Gives a whole new meaning to "sticks to your ribs".

I used to date a mortician....pepper is the last thing to digest. Don't ask me why I remember this.

If it says in your system, where does it go? I have it every day and it's not in my stomache keeping me full!

Sounds like you guys are talking about urban myths.

Chewing gum might take that long to digest if it got stuck in your stomache and waited. It will pass through you undigested, like those infamous watermelon seeds ... and sometimes corn (you know you've looked!).

Oh now, please-- this is all just getting too silly. Suppose I have a rare steak with corn on the cob-- you're telling me tomorrow that my intestines are gonna know to zap out the corn but keep the meat? This is just silly, people-- :noway:

I had a college professor who use to go into rants about how today's peanut butter is nothing more than flavored crisco..... I'd believe it.

My stepdad's mom just told me that she heard it from her nutritionist and I was wondering if anyone else had heard this, too. Maybe because it's hard to digest or something; I've heard that you get a lot of hard to digest crap built up in your colon, too.

i swallowed a lego when I was a kid. Pooped it out the next day. I think everyone's theories have just been busted.

In what sense does it "stay in your system" - meaning the residues of the protein cells can be found in your blood stream as long as 51 days? I'm thinking of this as related to allergies (e.g. the protien cells found in cat dander remains airborn for as long as 2 weeks)...

Why would this be of concern anyway?

Bottom line is nuts are a healthy option (well, not my favourite ones that are choclate covered, but you get what I mean)....

Dave - what do you mean those sources don't count? How do you think we all learn about being possessed by demons, coming back from the dead, and the perils of screwing your sister's husband? And a certain billionairess has taught me lots of tricks to pinch pennies and "beat the recession"...
