Hi Everyone. Have been on this site since July/August. I have trolled through some of the postings that people have left and figured I'd finally make one myself.

Probably like a lot of you, I have always been an overweight person..actually I believe the word is Obese(morbidly). I'm 37 years old and in the middle of Summer 2011, I finally decided to take back my life and extend it. At the time I started, I was 417lbs at 6'3". Was tired of buying clothes at specialty shops, constant back and chest pains, my appearance..yada yada yada..

I discovered this app while cruising my iPhone and I do have to say that there is no way I would have lost this amount of weight without using this app on a daily basis.

The second stage to finding this app was getting active. This was equally as tough as I could barely stand on my feet longer then 5 minutes before my back became painful. Although it was embarassing in the first few weeks, I did get out every night to walk around the block. Over time I was able to extend the distance. I did this for about 6 weeks until I felt I could take on personal training at home. Lucky for me, I found the right trainer who I worked with over a 16 week span of 3 1hr sessions per week. I was amazed at the progress of stamina and strength.

I felt at the end of November, it was time to fly solo and joined a Gym. Have been going 4-5 days a week with a mix of strength and cardio training lasting 75 minutes each time.

Today I reflect back on my journey and although I have tried to be low key (since the end goal was so far away, it wasn't worth patting oneself on the back), I am amazed at how quickly things have turned around. Still plenty of work to do...

I guess the only negative I have is that I certainly feel my stress level is up a bit since I have obsessed about this journey and found as of late getting more and more difficult to stay on the right path. I've never attempted this kind of change in diet or exercise in my life..so I am just figuring it's the body letting me know that the pedal has been on the floor too long and to let off a little bit untill the engine stops overheating before flooring it again.

Anyways.....That's about it(especially coming from an introvert like me) For those that are just starting out..keep going.....it is well worth the effort and with discipline and motivation, you can accomplish anything.

Cheers
