Yes, that is a good way to burn calories, but it is uncomfortable. People do that for running sometimes.0

thought of that once and did in fact try wrist and ankle weights for a short short while, but then I read that additional weight like that is not good for your joints, a vest I would think would be rough on the lower back, pelvis, hips, knees, ankles maybe even neck and shoulders etc. It's just my humble opinion but I would read a bit before doing that. I'm all for anything that would help shed the pounds, but not at the risk of doing damage, however minimal, while doing so. Tread (no pun intended) with caution.0

Yeah but how much difference does it really make?
The difference between me walking for 1/2 an hour with a 10kg (22lb) difference is a whopping 11 calories
I know walking's not the most exerting workout, but it's still not much difference.0 -
Yes you will burn more calories, specifically for running. When a person first starts running they are at a certain weight and you lose a certain amount of calories. However, as you lose weight your runs become less effectived in terms of calories burn per hour or per mile. The vest helps you put the weight back on without actually putting the weight back on.
I had this issue when I first started training for a marathon. My HRM would tell me I was burning about 800 cals/hour. As I lost weight, that dropped to about 600 cals/hour even though I was running further and faster.
EDIT: Also I am going to add that imagine running without it after training with it for some time. Lets say with the weighted vest you can get to a 10 minute mile pace. And then you take it off and go running. 8 minute mile pace? Sure, why not.0
