Read the whole article using the link at the end of this post. Very interesting, specially when I actually knew someone who suffered from this issue because he didn't get up the whole time during a long flight to his country of origin.

The Worst Place to Sit on a Plane

Forget the window seat next time you’re booking a flight longer than six hours. According to new research, enjoying window views from 30,000 feet ups your odds of suffering from deep venous thromboses (DVTs)—or blood clots—than being in an aisle seat. Some studies have suggested it can increase risk two-fold.

I had a DVT over a year ago and I just recently flew, but made sure to get the aisle seat so I could move my legs as much as possible. I'll do anything to avoid gettin another. Worst pain in my life!

Something I found out while I was looking for the benefits of garlic is that, garlic is an anticoagulant and in some cases when getting a surgery, doctors might tell you not to eat it for a week before the surgery. Probably eating garlic in those cases could be beneficial :)

Near the back of the plane and next to the screaming baby are also bad places to sit on a plane.

    Good link about DVT though.

You can't smell it in the loo's, although they get annoyed if you stay in there for too long, not an official seat and all that!

The worst place for me was on my international flight where they have a middle row of seats. I had 2 people on my left and 1 on my right. I felt trapped the entire trip (10 hours) and only got up once to use the bathroom because I felt bad for the person next to me who had to get up.
  • Think Again - Where To Sit On An Airplane

The safest place to sit really depends on the type of accident and the type of airplane. Generally, however, the safest place is in the rear of the airplane, in an emergency exit row (or nearest an exit), not over the wing, and not next to an engine.

A few weeks ago I flew back from my holiday and discovered when entering the plane that my seat was on the very last row.. The smell of gas (or whether that was) as the plane took off, was horrible! I was afraid I would get really sick, but luckily as soon as the plane was up in the sky, the smell was gone.
Anyway, that was the worst place I've ever sat on in a plane, it even seemed smaller and more uncomfortable..
As for the window seat, I only travel by plane a few times a year so I don't think a few of hours a year are that dangerous :) I'll keep my window seat, thank you very much
