accuracy of calories burned

I have a watch that checks heart rate and tells calories burned. I was wondering how accurate this was tonight after burning almost 1000 calories doing an hour of Zumba. Yes, there was a lot of jumping and such, but looking to see what mfp thinks.

What brand of watch is it? The Polars with chest straps come well recommended but the cheaper ones are usually off in one direction or another.
That said, Zumba is pretty intense stuff. I could see someone knocking out close to a thousand in an hour. If you're heavy like me, just walking on a treadmill at 3.5mph and an incline will burn 500-600 an hour.0 -
It's a sportline s70

Chest strap model HRMs are more accurate than wrist type models. Probably best to be a little conservative when you post the counts.0

You can also go to www.zumbacalories.com and put in how long you did it and at what intensity and it will tell you how many calories burned, if you want to double check.0
