So, I find I always do better in a run race than me running by myself because of the other people there. I found out this magical help extends to this website today. When I signed onto MFP, I figured I'd log my cals, cheer some people on, whatever. I went on the elliptical for the first time in prob 2 weeks today (that would be any gym time, not just that workout in particular). My goal was 30 minutes. I got to 10 and considered quitting. Then, it occurred to me that I had just told someone on MFP just today that I do 30 minutes on the elliptical, PLUS I have to log the thing. Who'd want to put 10 minutes?!? How embarrassing! So I kept going. About every 5 minutes, I reconsidered. Seriously I was almost lying on the thing by the end of the 30 minutes (after this week I will have proper gym time, thank god). I was happy that I kept my speed between 4.0mph and 4.7mph for the vast majority of the time- 4.5mph to 4.7mph for about 60-70% of it, 4.0mph to 4.5mph as the 20-minute mark hit, and the last few minutes my speed went to 2.0mph because the resistance on the program dropped out. boo. but i kept it as high as I could- I can only move my legs so fast!

anyway, my point. I wanted to thank everyone for being a good pressure for my workout. glad I joined the site. :flowerforyou:

positive peer pressure is the best kind :) Good for you!! It always helps me whenever I know there's someone counting on me to finish what I say I'm going to do.
