Nope, sorry. That would be awesome though. If you exceed your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) you will gain weight. If you're doing strength training, some will be stored as muscle and some as fat; if not, then most or all of it will be stored as fat.

Yeah, it doesn't matter if its carbs, protein or fats... a calorie is a calorie when in excess.

    Get a new one.

You gain weight when you eat more food (energy) than your body needs regardless of the kind. It's that simple.
  • I think I can kinda sorta almost see why he'd say that, even though it's false. Protein helps build muscle which is AWESOME, but a calorie is a calorie no matter what form it comes in. Losing fat = calories in < calories out

    Yeah. He's disqualified.

Although, technically, I believe most trainers are not qualified to give nutritional advice and shouldn't really be doing so.

I bet he is probably assuming you are the average woman who doesn't look into things like this, and he figured it would just motivate you to eat more protein which is important for your muscles. A trainer shouldn't be saying things like that, which is why I will never EVER pay for a personal trainer.
