This just happened about ten minutes ago. My boyfriend and I just got home from a friend's place, and I was nakey...lol. Well I was talking about losing weight, and I looked at a beauty mark that's on my upper leg/ hip area and we realized how much it had moved over. It was once closer to my butt, but it has now moved and is nearly on my hip bone. It moved about two inches, and when I was 125 lbs (CW:144) it was about two more inches in on my hips.

Then my boyfriend realized just how much weight I had lost in my butt lower/hips area. I feel so good! I really want to lose this weight from my love handles, and belly. I've heard a couple things when it comes to losing belly fat; 1.) Cardio 2.)Diet

I am already doing cardio (25-50 min. of circuit training 5-7 days a week and 35 min. of ice skating 2 days a week).
I am already dieting, eating home cooked meals (healthy), drinking plenty of water, eating back my exercise calories.

So if I want to lose this belly fat what more should/can I do? Increasing cardio is all I can think of.

That's a great NSV! Keep up the great work! I say, keep doing what you're doing and you'll see changes...it's worked so far!
  • I also think that you should start lifting heavy.

I've been thinking about heavy lifting, but I don't have a lot of money for a gym membership. There's a snap fitness literally 1500 feet from my apartment, they charge $35 a month but the website says that have student rates. It's a month to month contract so I could star with the free 7 days, buy 1 month, and do a second if I like it. With the enrollment fee the first month would be $70.

The real problem is, I have only ever done a small amount of lifting in High School, nothing very heavy. I definitely don't have money for a trainer, so how would I begin heavy lifting on my own?

NEW RULES OF LIFTING FOR WOMEN by Lou schuler (I think I spelled that wrong) Great book, easy to read, all you need are some barbells and dumbells, an exercise ball and a flight of stairs somewhere. i've just started it but have seen pix of people with incredible success using it. for the blank work out sheets, google "caustic musings, maggie" and you'll get a blog where this woman has made up spreadsheets for the workout that you can download and use. they are awesome and waaaaay easier than trying to write up everything yourself. but you should buy the book first because you'll need it for the "passwords" to the spreadsheets and also to explain the exercises
