Help with the sugar counter

Hello,
I'm still relatively new to MFP, I think I've got most of the website/app figured out save the Sugar counter. When I add one orange and one banana (two of my favorite fruits), I'm already above my 39 suggested grams per day. How am I to meet that unholy low amount? My daily total runs ~150g/day. I'm sure I can drop it down to 100 if I try, but 39 or less?!
(My carb count has been averaging 270 out of goal 270 and my fiber has been 40g out of goal 30g)
Any help would be appreciated,
