I have a small size pickup truck that can deliver a bumpy ride depending on terrain and, yes, it will record it as steps so I take off the fitbit when I am in the car and place it on my purse strap.0

I don't have a fitbit, but I have the bodymedia fit armband, and in the book that came with it, it says on really bumpy roads or when off roading steps may be recorded and to just take it off when sitting in the car if it registers steps. That being said I've never had that problem, and would assume the fitbit would be similar, only on really bumpy roads.0
