I just heard about this study that showed that people who ate dessert for breakfast actually LOST more weight than those who didn't. Here's the article.

It says that it helped prevent cravings later in the day. The people who ate the lighter breakfast ended up cheating on their diets. So it still boils down to: the people who ate fewer total calories per day lost the most weight. If eating dessert for breakfast helps you eat fewer calories overall, then yes, it will help you lose weight.0

I haven't read the actual study, but from the article's description of it, it seems that it's really just about eating more calories at breakfast. The "non-dessert" group was only allowed 300 caloires for breakfast, which the dessert group was allowed 600.
If they wanted to test whether sweets for breakfast held an advantage they'd have to at least give both groups the same number of calories. Otherwise, who's to say that if the non-dessert group had 300 more calories of protein or fat they wouldn't have the same results?0 -
