I've been losing weight since Sept 5, 2010. I lost 53lbs, then gained back about 12, and now am at a 46lb loss. After I did an olympic triathlon in July I kept active until October and then only worked out 3x per week, and started eating junk food again.... after my new jeans started feeling tight again I got back on the stick. So, I'm taking the scenic route.... but as long as I "get there" I don't care how long it takes me.
I started out by just changing my eating habits for 3 months
Then I started going to the gym 1X wk
3 wks later I added a second day
Then I added a third and so on and so on until I was hooked.
I race all of the time now!0 -
I lost 40lbs in 3 months. Have lost 45 lbs in total

I started out at 420lbs. Now I'm at 278, so 141lbs down.
I started in 2010 with just eating on a breakfast plate and cutting out all sodas (even diet). I lost 40lbs in a year just doing that.
In 2011 I joined MFP and started doing Zumba 1 day a week. I lost 90lbs in a year.
Now, I do Zumba 3 times a week, Zumba toning once a week, and walk 4 miles a week (usually on Sat).
As far as calories, I eat what MFP tells me to (set at 2lbs a week). When I started it was about 2100 calories a day. Now it's 1500.
