A few years ago I came across an article in a magazine about how we see ourselves and how we constantly say negative things about ourselves to others (even strangers). Picture yourself in the bathroom with other women. What comes out of your mouth? Usually it is something like.."these jeans make me look so fat" or "geeze i need to lose some weight."

The basic challenge was to completely stop saying out loud anything negative about yourself to anyone, (even yourself) for 30 days. One of the things that struck me was it said to never say anything to your spouse because they don't see you the way you do. If you are in the middle of getting romantic and you see nothing but fat, he sees nothing but a naked woman! According to the article anyway. But if you keep bringing it up, he does start to see the fat too. Why bring it to his attention? It was the same for other situations too with friends and others.

Anyway, i decided to try it. It was way harder than i ever thought it would be. I didn't realize i put myself down as much as i did. Especially in a group setting. When other women are saying things like "boy i need to go on a diet" or "gosh i am getting so fat" it was really hard not to chime in. Instead i would try to say something positive about them instead of something negative about myself.

After 30 days you start to change the way you see yourself. It really does work! And i think it changes the way others see you too.

My challenge to you is to try it for 30 days. Not one negative thing can you say out loud about yourself! Not one. Try it, it will surprise you!

I'm gonna try this! It seems like it would be so difficult! It's sad that it comes down to that. We should all love ourselves a bit more!

I accept your challenge, but I know this will not be easy. Old habits die hard...
