i have been on here almost a month and have been doing great losing pounds pretty quick. this last week i have been gaining pounds....not sure what is going on. still working out the same every day and eating well and staying within calorie limit. maybe gaining muscle, i dont know. my question is....i want my body to shrink, i want to get rid of fat and not just stay this size and weight and gain muscle. so how do i make that happen???? i work out from home so limited on what excercises i can do. i just was hoping to shed pounds, fat, etc and shrink down and then work on building more muscle.

Agree.. And it could be muscle.. I know people say go off how your clothes fit, personally its hard for me.. I like to see the number change. But you want to make sure that you are eating enough to fuel your body, so it doesnt think it is starving and stores everything.. And you always want to change up your routine,, if you do the same thing all the time, your body gets used to it, throw in a different dvd or if you have a treasmill add some incline to it.. Some weigh-ins i have a gain but the next week would be a loss.. You also want to make sure you dont consume a ton of sodium before your weigh in.. You will see changes.. Stick with it..0

If you are eating at a deficit, its probably not muscle. A woman can hope to gain about 10 pounds of muscle a year. You say you are exercising you are even lifting?0 -

It would help if we could see your food diary. (: That's usually where the issue is.
My best guess is that your body has finally realized that hey, you're losing weight, and it's starting to stubbornly put on the brakes. It can take some time to work through exactly what is wrong (eating too much, eating too little, overestimating calories burned, underestimating calories burned, what kind of food you're eating, etcetera), or it could be totally out of your control (if it's that time of the month, for example, I gain about 2-3 pounds out of nowhere from bloating, no matter how much water I drink).
Do you eat back your exercise calories? If you don't, your body might have gone into "starvation mode" and decided to hold onto everything because your deficit is too extreme.0
