It's been since last Friday...I'm trying to get back in the grove, so I'm shooting for at least 3.

No running today. Had bootcamp and did some core exercises. We did have running for 20 minutes - out and back. I let the slowbie squad in that. Since the slowbies are the injured (me) or non-runners, I was able to walk fast and do a very slow jog for a portion of it. We only did about 1/2 mile in ten minutes so I guess I walked a mile this morning.

Tomorrow is a running day but I think I will keep down to a slow shuffle/fast walk to see how the shin holds up. It does feel better but I don't want to push it. This is the worst it has ever felt since I started running and this is with new shoes.

Sherry, sorry to hear the new shoes aren't giving you any relief. Maybe you need to look into orthotics?

No run for me today either. After track yesterday morning, upper body workout last night and plyometric work out this morning, I'm whooped - I'll rest my legs for my tempo run tomorrow.

Wahoo! I ran double what my goal was for today! 6 miles. I truly could have gone further if it weren't for the fact that I really had to get back to work. :( I can't wait to get new shoes this weekend - and for warmer weather, so I can run outside!

I'm so annoyed! I was running in the arena at school and on mile 4 a bunch of people came in so there wasn't enough room for all of us, o well, I'm going to go out and do 5 more, hopefully I won't get rained on!

Just ran 5 1/4 miles this morning! I've never gone that far and I did it on the treadmill no less. Kind of boring but I can keep an eye on my kiddies while inside. It was snowing this morning!!

I got the Brooks Hurricanes. I ran on the Asisc Kayano for a long time, but this last time when I tried them on they didn't feel as good. I decided to try these out, and they're the BOMB. This week I've already gone 28 miles on them, and they feel so good.

What qualifies one as a runner?

    Do newbies count?

My opinion on that one, is anyone who is willing to try it, I'm a marathon runner, but don't put all the effort behind my running as most people do...for example, I run on average 8-10 miles a day, I don't do speed, tempo, days, I just run  , my last competitive run was in Miami beach 20 miles, and I ran the last 5 miles barefoot! as long as you like to run I would say you qualify!

I think I just aggrevated my shin to the point that only rest and relaxation will help it heal right now. Other than that, I don't think anything will help it. :grumble:
