Weight loss while on Fluoxetine

Took me a while to decide whether to post this or not, but eventually I decided, what the hell.
I've been on fluoxetine for a little over a year now. With my current weight loss (23lbs down over the course of the last 7 weeks) I've noticed that my emotions have been ummm, how to say it... expanding.
The other day I bawled at a song. Literally bawled. That's never happened in my life before.
Then a few days later, I was reading that "most embarassing experiences at the gym" thread and I had a laughing fit that left tears on my cheeks and pain in my stomach. I can't remember laughing so hard that I actually hurt myself in a long time.
Obviously I'll ask my doctor about this. Perhaps the reduction in body mass is making the meds more effective. Perhaps it's nothing to do with the meds and just a nice side effect of working out? Who knows. I was just curious to see if anyone else has had similar experiences?

I don't have experience with Fluoxetine, but I do know that workouts increase your testosterone levels. I found myself moody and emotional when I first started strength training, and as I read up on it, found that this is a common experience, although most men don't recognize or admit it. Kudos to you for having the sack to put it out there. I would definitely talk to your doctor about this, as increased hormone levels could definitely affect your meds, and, as you stated, a reduction in body mass could also have an effect.0

I do agree that you should probably talk to your doctor, you may need a dosage adjustment. I have worked with Fluoxetine (not with humans). Even a 5mg change can do wonders. Your weight loss may be enough to put you in a different weight class.
Good Luck!0
