Why don't sodium goals go up when you exercise?

I love salt. I can eat in the given range if I track, but I was curious about why the sodium goal doesn't go up like the others do with exercise. I only burn 300-600 cals / workout, so I know I don't need more salt for balance... even with drinking almost a gallon of water a day. But I do wonder at what point you do need more salt. Anyone know?

You need sodium and potassium to keep your heart pumping, your nerves working, your muscles working all that. But it takes a lot of sweating before you need to worry. Most professional athletes are the only ones who need to supplement their sodium. Unless you're training 8 or more hours a day, it's really not an issue!

I don't know what the exact levels are, but you can get away with more salt if you drink lots of water!
