Inches Down, Scale Not Budging.

I don't know what to do. I am shrinking, I have lost inches in every part of my body (hips, stomach, butt, arms), but the number on the scale is not changing.
I run a few miles four or five times a week, and I am doing the Brazil Butt Lift program religiously. I am always under or right around my calorie goal, and recently I have tried to stop eating back the calories earned from exercise.
I am running out of ideas. I need help finding a way to lose pounds in addition to slimming my body. I am currently 5'6" and 154lbs. I am trying to get to around 135lbs.

Keep doing whay you are doing. You are reducing fat and gaining lean muscle. A pound is a pound, but a pound of fat is huge compared to a pound of lean muscle. Also, make sure you're eating some of your exercise calories back and netting at least 1200 a day, but a little more won't hurt either. Use a tape measure once a month and weight about once every two weeks.0

I was the same way, I lost inches but not weight, my clothing size was even going down but not my scale .....I actually increased the amount of calories I eat and have managed to loose 2 lbs this week, with eating more! I eat 6-7 times a day....3 meals and the rest are snacks...
maybe your body needs more food...0 -
I am right there with you! I am 5''7 and 152lbs. I've been at this a week (I know, I know, I have NO patience) but my scale isn't budging. I think I am going to STOP getting on the scale every morning and wait. I am hoping right now my body is just adding muscle and once I reach a certain level of basic strength, I will maintain that muscle and JUST be burning off the fat. I know I had plenty of muscle to gain (been almost completely sedentary at my job and once I started my workouts again I was AMAZED at how week I've gotten!) I am dying to see the scale get out of the 150s!
Add me if ya like. Its fun to see someone with almost the same height and weight with the same impatience as me0 -
I so could have posted that! I am 5'6" and was 154.4 this morning! I have been doing 30ds, along with c210k. My pants are falling off but the lowest I can get the scale to is 153.8. I am thinking I am going to hide the scale for 2 weeks and really focus on eating and try not to stress on the number. That is so hard though!0

Something I see a lot of people doing wrong is only eating 1200 calories worth of food and then working out like a mad woman everyday and not eating their exercise calories. You REALLY need to make sure you eat your exercise calories. 1200 is already on the low end for an intake.
I too have been stuck at nearly the same weight for many weeks, but I'm down a whole pant size and can tell I'm skinnier. Keep in mind its what we look like in the mirror that we want to change, not a worthless number on a scale. I'm also eating my calories back, most days my intake is close to double the average person on here, I feel great and its the right way to get healthy.0 -
I am exactly the same height and weight. I have been doing P90X religiously since January 1 and am experiencing the same issue. I have not lost a pound! It is so frustrating. Yes, I have lost a couple of inches, but still can't feel the difference in my clothes. I am going to keep going at it and suggest you do the same. It is all about feeling good and being healthy! Eventually the scale will move. Keep us posted.0

Like Jillian Michaels says transformation is not a future event it is a present activity. I have been having the same issue for about 4 weeks now. Saturday I was ready to give up when I hopped on the scale and nothing. So I took my measurements and had lost 6 inches overall in 3 weeks. Sure 6 inches is not a whole lot but it is still something.0

Huh. :-) i have the opposite problem. Scale is going down, down, down, and my wast is the same size.
EDIT: "waist" (darn iPad on-screen keyboard...not sensitive enough)0 -
I don't see how this is a problem.0

I wrote this on another post - same idea
I know it is hard - heck it is hard for me...because for many of us a scale is some sort of indicator...
if you are exercising and eating good wholesome foods in a calorie deficit...the weight will come off - albeit slowly...there may be times where the scale goes up or when the scale sticks...
It could be that this week you show an upswing in your weight or are stuck because you are retaining water from working out - maybe your hormones are fluctuating (I always gain about 2-3 lbs the week before my monthly "friend")
You may find while the scale doesn't go down that much over time your body frame will change...I have lost 15 lbs over the past year - slowly....but my body shape has changed quite a bit through my exercise (some gym, kickboxing and crossfit) - so people who haven't seen me in awhile have remarked how good I look and think i have lost upward of 25-30 lbs...
If you are working at maintaining your muscle mass and burning fat - remember a lb of fat and a lb of muscle weigh the same but a lb of fat takes up a much greater volume...so even if you scale over time says 1/2 lb down or a lb down -if that is all fat then your body frame will shrink...so if you are working out and loose 5 lbs of fat vs doing something like just restricting calories and losing both fat and muscle - your body may have quite a visible difference...
Body fat explains why 2 women (and men) can be the same height, weigh the same but be in totally different sizes...I know people that are my height and about my weight but lower body fat that fit into clothes 2 sizes smaller then I - likewise I have a friend who is my height and weight but has a much higher % of body fat and she wears 3 sizes bigger to accomodate the VOLUME of fat
It is better to get a body fat analysis done and worry about those numbers rather than a scale number...or take key measurments - Arm, chest, waist, hips and thighs...the difference for me in a years time - chest, waist and hips went down maybe a inch...but I took 3 inches off each of my thighs - my arms stayed the same, but now when I flex you can see muscle defination...you can see my collarbone and shoulder muscles...0
