In mid December, I made my first effort to lose weight. I "tried" to reduce my calories, while spending more time at the gym. I made cardio a priority over weight lifting ... and found limited success.

I then discovered MFP and found a new workout plan (an advertisement on MFP site) and have finally started to see the results I'm looking for. 30 Days into my new workout and 35 days into using MFP, I'm down 12 lbs. Add that to the 8 lbs I lost prior and I'm pretty happy. I now know I have a plan that will lead me to whatever success I want.

Below is a picture showing me 14 months apart. I didn't take a before picture, so I chose the most recent picture of me BEFORE dieting that showed my full body that was taken in Kona, HI on my 20th anniversary.

To get the pic to show make IMG lowercase and resize the photo so it is smaller.

You look great. What program are you doing?

Thanks for the advice on getting the picture to work ... very frustrating!

I'm doing a program called Max Workouts by Shin Ohtake. It is a high intensity circuit and interval workout. I spend about half the time at the gym that I use to, but am getting a better workout.

    Thanks everyone!

Something else I didn't post, as it relates more to my workout, is that my resting heart rate has dropped from about 60 bpm average to 52 bpm average. I've been trying to get these numbers lower via long cardio workouts, but it looks like intervals are the way to go! Also, my doctor has cut in half my dose of medication to manage my blood pressure.

wow! Great job! Great news re: resting HR and your med dose being reduced- that's really what it's all about in the end- so you look healthy AND are actually healthy. Congrats!
