Fell off the horse and the wagon

I was here last year and doing pretty good with my weight loss until I literally fell off a horse. I was taking English lessons and while cantering one day the horse went one way and I went down. I hit the sawdust mostly on my chest and chin and tore cartilage on my sternum. So long story short, I was in a lot of pain for about 6 weeks but that became an excuse to not exercise and I gained back the 10lbs I lost.

However, I'm back and I'm ready. Work and school are extremely busy fo me right now until mid-June so my plan is to track my food during that time and take walks during work breaks and for half an hour before school. Once school is out I will do 45 minutes min every day after work and some big physical activity during the weekend such as hiking or roller-skating. I am going to Australia in Sept. and I want to feel comfortable in a bathing-suit so that I don't feel horribly self-conscious while snorkeling or diving at the Great Barrier Reef.

Great job getting back on the wagon! Are you back on the horse now, too? :) I ride also (Western). I've been riding for four years and have fallen a few times but never have hurt myself (and hopefully never will!) I love riding and am so glad it's great exercise also! I am planning to do some English lessons this summer! :) Your Australia trip sounds awesome and like great motivation!
  • It's great that you're motivated to start up again! Good luck on your endeavors - you can do it!

Thank you all for the words of encouragement! I have gotten back up on the horse for some Western riding but I will not be starting up my English lessons again until after Australia due to wanting to save every penny I can to be able to do everything I dream about there without using my credit card. I've never been there and so if anyone has any suggestions on places to go I'd be very grateful.
