Hi All,

I know we get losts of these posts but I just need to vent!

My weight hasnt moved now for 2 weeks it hasnt moved from 200lbs and I am finding it very disheartening, I am doing 20 minutes of tae bo 4-5 days a week and I am under my cals most days. What I do is go under my cal allowance all week and then have a takeaway on a Saturday night as a treat and use up the calories, do you think this could be why my weight isnt shifting?

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated, I will happily open up my diary if it helps!

Thanks so much :):)

  • How far under are you averaging? If it is too low, it could be messing with your metabolism...

Are you measuring & weighing your food? You might be eating more calories then you think. I only eat some of my exercise calories back....it works for me. I always eat 1200 calories at least!
  • Hi ......
Got to live a little dont fuss over the take away to much.....
Try changing the exercise routine as your body will be use to the same programme.....

You have undercut your metabolism for too long constantly, and your BMR has lowered to what it is actually getting in the way of left over calories after the exercise takes it amount. You feed body 1200, exercise takes 600 (well, probably more like 450-500 now), leaving 600 for basic functions of human life it has available.
When a healthy metabolism probably could have been burning 1600 calories a day. Huh, an extra 1000 calorie burn a day. That is 1 lb a week!

When metabolism slows, your daily activity doesn't burn as much either, and your calorie estimates for exercise are off too (those formulas are based on healthy individuals). So what daily activity was maybe 600, is now more like 500. The hour of exercise was 700, now 550.

Your cheat day probably started too late, or is too little to make up for the 6 day effect. So instead of a metabolism kick, the body is just saying it's going to hang on to this in case the abuse gets worse.

You can have a better way, get that BMR burning high again, being on your side, that will increase daily activity burn, and will kick it into overdrive.

Check out an easier way to win this battle.

Because you have 2 simple choices now - start eating less and/or exercising more.
And guess what the body will do. Then what?
You can't win that downward spiral.

Or learn about how to make your metabolism soar.

Start with the BMR topic to understand why it is your friend, and you don't want to hurt it.

Then the progress topics for those reporting after just a week.

You are using your banked calories like they do on weight watchers. It doesn't work that way on this site. :noway:

If you don't have enough calories allocated and calories burned from exercise on the actual day then you are going over when you have your take away.

So you are sabotaging yourself. :ohwell:

You have to treat each day as a new one, eat the calories you are allocated, exercise to earn more. The unused calories are not banked at all.

I am good in the week, but on the weekend I'm definately not so controlled. When hubby is home and the family gather round for drinks and food. I try to keep my exercises up though to help give me those extra calories.

I'm on a plateau too. Im going to rethink my meals this week.

    Good luck,:flowerforyou:

I would say that you should try to stay at the 1200 calories a day. Don't under eat. That is not going to help you. You may want to switch up your workouts a little. Do taebo and then maybe add 20 min of walking to that. Do you have a workout partner? Also, I just started this on this product called shakeology. It helps with weightloss and has every nutrient you need. check out this website to get more information

Make sure you are drinking a lot of water. Also muscle does weigh more than fat. Have you measure yourself? Have someone measure you and then in one month measure yourself again and see if you are loosing inches. The best way to know if what you are doing is working is how do you feel during the day and at the end of the day. Is your clothes becoming loose on you. The scale is not alway our friend.

    Hope this helps you.
