Need help. Don't know if anyone else in the UK on here will be affected by this, but come April, the government will be increasing the hours you have to work before getting help with working families tax credit. I currently work 19 hours, I will need to work another 5 hours, which work have already told me there is no need for it.

At the moment, I can just cover all my bills, food, petrol and put away a bit through the year for things like road tax, MOT, birthdays and Xmas, but come April, I will have negative £500!!

I don't know what to do. My reflex is to stop work again and get EVERYTHING paid for, which I don't want to do, but I have essential bills, childcare and mortgage to pay. Not going to manage with negative income!! I really wish they will put off this legislation until September next year. My daughter will be going to high school and I can work full time, then won't even need working family tax credits...

Bad timing.

:frown:
