To my horror yesterday, I went over my calories by 400 just by not logging my food as I was too busy. I was really upset with myself because it was just a stupid mistake. I dreaded the scale this morning but lo and behold I had lost a whole pound. What's up with that? I have been losing approx 2 pounds a week at about .5 at a time but this was crazy. Should I go over my calories again?

I honestly dont think you should increase your calories. Going over every once in a while does not kill your progress but if it becomes a habit it will affect your weight loss. Your doing such a good job keep up the good work!!0

I guess the question to ask is how many calories are you set to eat per day.... personally 1200 which is what I had originally set per day was too little for me... and I have had much more success with 1400 calories per day. but that is just me! :flowerforyou: congrats on the loss.0

I aim for 1500 a day, exercise or not. On heavy exercise days I may eat a little more but not much and I have success. When I only eat 1200 I feel dizzy and lightheaded and my family does NOT enjoy my company b/c I am ill as a hornet!!0

last summer, I took a 5 day break for a road trip to Ontario to visit family. Along the way all we ate was fast food- mostly pizza and tim hortons. When I got home I weighed myself... and I had lost 4 lbs.
Our bodies are weird. Just keep doing what you're doing. Going over in calories once in awhile is ok.0 -
Thanks everyone. I aim for 1200 calories a day but I think I will let myself maybe go over once in awhile, maybe 1300 or 1400. Our bodies are weird. You are right about that.
I love my ticker. It says 9 lbs but I really only lost 8.5 Love that
Off to work now, to burn some calories0 -

Remember, net calories = total cals - exercise cals. What matters is your net calories. Otherwise you'll burn muscle instead of fat!0
