Hi
Im not new to this, but new to this site. I started dieting after Christmas and have lost 8lbs. I feel thats a little slow but i could be wrong.I was using another food tracker program until yesterday. The other program had me down to 1095calories per day to lose weight. It was the hardest thing to try and maintain plus i stop seeing the weight lost. I have been stuck at the same # for at least the last 2 weeks. I even increase my exercise from 3 to 5 days and still no change. When I switched to MFP my calorie intake was increased to 1200. Is this right? Im trying to stick with this but need help!!!

Consumption of less than 1200 calories a day puts you into "starvation mode" and your body wll resist weight loss b/c it thinks you are starving. When you do lose weight, it is more not to be fat. I think your weight loss is great & you should be very proud.0

I'm the queen of slow weight loss! BUT. In the past that has always stopped me. I'd diet and if I didn't see 40 lbs off the scale in two weeks, I'd quit and say...Well this isn't working for me. Since I joined MFP, I've averaged about .8 lb a week, BUT I'm still doing it, and I've lost 10 lbs. For me, It's not a race, it's just TIME for me to get it right. I don't want to ever have to do this again. If you need friend support on this site, feel free to add me. It's a journey, and sometimes (maybe most of the time) it's more important to learn things on the journey than it is to finally reach the destination! )0

I am new here also and the site had me at 1230 calories now that I am exercising it has me at 1300 Net calories ( please don't ask me what this means).
Anyway I refuse to go a "diet" but I am keeping a written food journal as well as entering my weight, activities and food on here at least twice a week.
For the first time I am losing weight and craving less plus I bought a Heart monitor and GPS which is like having a personal trainer with me all the time.
Slow and steady wins the race every time .0
